Project Manager — Coordinating Small Teams
I work as an outsourced project manager for small teams and startups that need someone keeping the project on track, without the cost of a full-time in-house manager hire. I set up a task tracker (Jira, Trello, Linear — depending on the team's scale and habits), and build a simple, clear process without the excess bureaucracy that only slows a small team down. I run short regular syncs with the team, track blockers, and escalate them early — not after a deadline slip has already become unavoidable. I prepare clear status reports for the client or investor — what's done, what's in progress, what risks are on the horizon — without excess technical jargon when the report's reader isn't a developer. I'm comfortable working with a distributed team across time zones, building asynchronous communication so nobody's required to be on a call in the middle of the night. I don't do the actual development or design work myself — my role is specifically process and communication coordination between specialists and the client. A comfortable format is running one project with a team of up to 6–8 people, part-time or project-based.
