Audio Editor — Podcasts & Video Sound
I do audio post-production — editing and mixing podcasts, cleaning up sound for video, noise reduction and volume balancing on recordings from multiple microphones. People often come to me with a raw podcast recording where different speakers talk at different volumes and there's background noise — I bring the tracks to a consistent level, remove clicks and background hum, and trim long pauses and filler words where it doesn't hurt the natural flow of speech. I work in Adobe Audition and Reaper, using loudness reference targets for specific platforms — podcast platforms and video hosts have different sound-level requirements. I can add a simple intro stinger and licensed background music if the whole episode needs finishing, not just voice cleanup. I don't do on-location sound recording or ad voiceover work — those are separate specializations for a sound engineer and a voice actor. Typical turnaround for one 40–60 minute podcast episode is one to two working days.
